Petite Pup Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC – Policies
EVERY CLIENT WILL BE ASKED TO READ AND SIGN THE PETITE PUP MOBILE PET GROOMING, LLC “POLICIES AGREEMENT” PRIOR TO RECEIVING SERVICES:
Payment is expected at time services are rendered. First time clients are CASH ONLY.
We accept CASH & CHECKS. We do not accept Credit/Debit payments.
A RETURNED CHECK FEE OF $30 will be added for NSF checks. You will be asked to replace the check with cash payment, after which time you will be on a CASH ONLY PAYMENT BASIS for future services.
We respect your time and ask the same in return. Please give a 48hr. notice of cancellation/rescheduling so we may offer your reserved time slot to another. If we should arrive for your pre–scheduled, confirmed appointment to find no one home a $35 Trip/Fuel Charge may be added to your next grooming invoice. We understand “life happens” and each circumstance will be evaluated individually.
Our appointments are pre–scheduled by routes in 2 hour time “blocks”. Due to unpredictable traffic or weather conditions, mechanical failure of grooming equipment, or in the event we have had to spend extra time servicing a client, we are unable to give an exact time of arrival. For example, your appointment time is given for 1–3pm. We could arrive any time between 1pm. to 3pm and still be “On Time”. Rest assured your pet will still receive the same quality service. We will never hasten a pets’ grooming service for the sake of the time schedule. If we find we will be later than anticipated we will call to inform you.
We take great pride in providing dependable, reliable service. But we will not jeopardize our safety or that of our vehicle in the event of severe weather conditions or warnings of such. We will do our utmost to notify all scheduled clients.
Safety – comes first for everyone during the grooming process, people as well as pets. We acknowledge that not all pets are “perfect angels”, you must inform us prior to grooming if your pet has bitten someone or has aggressive tendencies. Owners of pets will be held responsible and liable for any bites (all bites will be reported to authorities) and / or property damage to our salon or equipment caused by their pet(s). We will never use force in restraining, or cause harm or discomfort in attempting to groom a pet. We will stop the grooming process if we feel your pets behavior is compromising his safety or ours. We will charge for the amount of the groom that has been accomplished or $35, whichever is greater. We will not provide grooming services to sedated pets or pets in severely neglected / matted condition. Those pets will be referred to a veterinarian with on staff groomer service in the event the pet has an adverse reaction to the sedation or the mat removal process.
Matted Pets – Petite Pup Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC will not de–mat a severely neglected/matted pet. Please do not ask or expect us to. Dematting a severely matted coat is a total contradiction to the stress–free philosophy of the Petite Pup Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC. If the “snarls, tangles, knots, clumps, etc” cannot be brushed out within a 15 minute time frame then the following alternatives will be offered:
- With your signed permission, the coat will be safely shaved off.
- You will be offered to reschedule your appointment time to allow you time to brush/comb out the excess matting/tangles prior to grooming. (A $35 Trip/Fuel Fee may apply.)
Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the matted hair. Heavy matting/pelting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. Some effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness and/or irritation, self–inflicted irritations or abrasions (scratching, licking, chewing, rug–rubbing), and failure of the hair to re-grow in areas. I am aware that closely shaven pets due to severe matting are also prone to sunburn and should either have sun screen applied daily and/or should be kept out of the sun until the hair growth is sufficient to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. As the owner of the pet, I am responsible for the condition of my pet’s coat and I will not hold Petite Pup Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal and/or shaving.
We understand some pets are extremely sensitive to normal grooming procedures such as nail trimming, cleaning/hair removal from ears, or external expression of anal glands. It is not our intent to cause discomfort to your pet. Although these are routine procedures normally performed for the well–being of the pet, sometimes, for the overly sensitive pet, these procedures are best left to the care of a veterinarian.
Pre–Existing Conditions – We ask that you inform us of any pre–existing medical, physical or emotional issues your pet has. Example: allergies, prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, skin problems, moles, warts, growths, chronic ear infections. For new clients, let us know if you or your pet have experienced an unsatisfactory grooming issue elsewhere that has caused a fearful reaction to certain grooming procedures. We want to avoid the repetition of poor or unpleasant experiences or situations.
Vaccinations – We require that every adult pet be current on Rabies vaccinations, and all puppies have started their vaccine series. Please have a current vaccination record available for your groomer to verify when they arrive to groom your pet. You may also provide your veterinarian’s name and phone number prior to your appointment so we may call their office for vaccination confirmation.
The Petite Pup Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC may take pictures of your pet before and after grooming for their website, advertising and/or education.
Fleas/Ticks – Out of respect to all our clients, we will not service pets with mass/severe flea / tick infestations. We request that all pets be current on proper flea/tick preventative. We cannot risk exposure to our other clients. Please inform us at the time you schedule your appointment if you suspect such an infestation. You will be referred to a veterinarian for flea/tick preventative treatment. If just a few fleas/ticks are noticed during our grooming procedure, your pet will receive a flea bath soak (kills all the parasites on the pets body), using only natural products containing NEEM oil, a natural flea and tick killer containing no pesticides. Additional Cost – $10
